The Your shop API reads your own connected Etsy shops from the data Alura syncs. Some things a seller does on Etsy can’t be done through Etsy’s API at all, and some are left out of this version on purpose.

Not possible through Etsy’s API

Etsy’s v3 API has no way to do these, so the Alura API doesn’t offer them:
  • Reply to reviews
  • Read or send buyer messages (Etsy’s conversations)
  • Refund or cancel an order
  • Etsy Ads
  • Sales and coupons
  • Etsy’s own shop stats and visits
  • Shop translations
  • Change the shop name
  • Turn vacation mode on or off
  • Edit the About section, the shop icon or the banner
  • Change the order of sections
  • Change the order of featured listings
The order fields you can read, such as message_from_buyer and gift_message, are the messages sent with the order. They aren’t Etsy conversations. Alura’s Chrome extension reaches some of these through the seller’s own browser session, which a server-side API can’t use.

Not in this version

  • Visits, views and favorites over time. Etsy keeps only lifetime counters, so a listing has its current views and favorites and no history of them.
  • Profit and margin per listing. They aren’t reliable at listing level. Shop stats has profit and margin for the whole shop.
  • Bulk edits and bulk create.
  • Outbound webhooks, such as a call to your server when an order is paid or shipped.
  • Finances as their own resource: payouts and the payment account’s ledger. Shop stats summarizes the ledger by day.
  • Writes. This version reads. Editing, creating and publishing listings, adding shipments and reverting a change aren’t available yet. Starting a sync is the one action, and it only asks Alura to copy your shop again.
