Look up keywords

GET /v1/research/keywords takes up to 100 keywords at once. Repeat q for each one, because keywords can contain commas, and set language (an ISO code from GET /v1/languages, en by default):
Each keyword comes back with:
  • volume.etsy_monthly and volume.google_monthly: average monthly searches on Etsy and on Google;
  • competition.level (very_low to very_high) and competition.competing_listings;
  • trend.change_3m and trend.change_yoy: the change in Etsy searches over the last three months and over a year, as fractions (0.12 is +12%);
  • market.avg_price_usd for the listings that rank for it, and market.est_avg_monthly_sales, which is null for now; see Keyword market.
Alura matches keywords after trimming, collapsing spaces and lowercasing, so Name Mug and name mug are the same keyword. A keyword and its language make one keyword: mug in English and in German are separate. GET /v1/research/keywords costs 1 API credit per keyword returned in data. Keywords Alura doesn’t have come back in pending or unfetched, free. Each keyword’s id opens it again with GET /v1/research/keywords/{id}, for 1 API credit.

Around a keyword

With a keyword’s id, you can explore around it:
  • GET /v1/research/keywords/{id}/related lists related keywords, 25 per page, at 1 API credit per page.
  • GET /v1/research/keywords/{id}/products lists the best-selling products whose title contains the keyword or that use it as a tag, and GET /v1/research/keywords/{id}/shops the shops behind them, as search summaries, up to 100 per page. They are Alura’s ranking by sales, not Etsy’s search order. GET /v1/research/keywords/{id}/products and GET /v1/research/keywords/{id}/shops each cost 10 API credits per page, like a search.
  • GET /v1/research/keywords/{id}/history returns monthly Etsy and Google searches for every completed month, null where Alura has no data. It needs the Growth plan or above and costs 1 API credit.
  • GET /v1/research/keywords/trending?language=en lists the keywords whose Etsy searches rose the most, English only for now, at 10 API credits per page.
In an AI assistant, get_related_keywords, get_keyword_top_results and get_keyword_history do the same, taking the keyword’s text instead of its id; get_trending lists trending keywords.

Keywords behind a product’s tags

GET /v1/research/products/{id}/tags returns the product’s tags, each matched to a keyword in the product’s language. keyword is null when Alura has no data for that tag:
GET /v1/research/products/{id}/tags costs 1 API credit per page. A product has at most 13 tags, so that is one page. Tags never start a fetch.
