# Status

> What works now, what is switched off, and how to report a problem.

Last updated 2026-10-15.

| Part | Status |
| - | - |
| REST API (`https://api.alura.io/v1`) | Private beta |
| MCP server (`https://mcp.alura.io/mcp`) | Private beta |
| Fetching items Alura has never seen | Switched off |
| Refreshing stale items | Switched off |
| Trending products and shops, saved research | Coming before the public launch |

## What "switched off" means for you

Everything Alura already knows is served as usual. Until fetching is on:

* opening a product or shop Alura has never seen answers `503 fetch_unavailable`, free;
* bulk lookups and keyword lookups list never-seen items in `unfetched` with the code `fetch_unavailable`;
* data older than 14 days comes back with `refresh: null` instead of starting a refresh.

[Freshness and new items](/api-reference/freshness) explains how it works once it is on.

## Reporting a problem

If calls fail and the error says `retryable: true`, retry with backoff first; [Handling errors](/guides/handling-errors) shows how. If it keeps failing, contact Alura support from the chat in [platform.alura.io](https://platform.alura.io) with:

* the `request_id` from the response body or its `Request-Id` header;
* the time of the call, in UTC;
* the endpoint or MCP tool you called.

Never send your API key to support. Nobody at Alura will ask for it.
