# upstream_timeout

> Timed out. HTTP 504, retryable.

**HTTP 504: Timed out.** Retry the request: wait for `Retry-After` when the response has one. Errors never cost API credits.

**What to do:** Retry shortly; if it keeps timing out, narrow the request or report the request\_id.
