# invalid_request

> Invalid request. HTTP 400, not retryable.

**HTTP 400: Invalid request.** Retrying the same request gives the same error. Errors never cost API credits.

The `detail` says what is wrong. An unknown `fields` path lists the valid paths in `valid_fields`, and an unknown `expand` value lists the accepted ones in `valid_expand`.

**What to do:** Fix the request as the detail says, then send it again.

The response is `application/problem+json` (RFC 9457) and has a `Request-Id` header with the same `request_id`. See [all errors](/api-reference/errors).
