# conflict

> Conflict. HTTP 409, not retryable.

**HTTP 409: Conflict.** Retrying the same request gives the same error. Errors never cost API credits.

For writes: the resource changed, or an `Idempotency-Key` was reused with a different body. Reload the resource, or use a new key for a new request.

**What to do:** Reload the resource and retry with its current state.

The response is `application/problem+json` (RFC 9457) and has a `Request-Id` header with the same `request_id`. See [all errors](/api-reference/errors).
